Newport Public Schools Curriculum Framework Preferred Format

Currently, the NPS Curricula are all in various formats and styles. All curricula should be developed and prepared in Microsoft Word with the following points in mind.

  1. Paper Size/Layout
    • 8 1⁄2 x 11” Paper in a Landscape Format
    • 3⁄4 “ Top, Bottom, Left & Right Margins

2.   Headers & Footers

    • Header should contain the following, “Newport Public Schools”/”Curriculum Framework”/”Subject”. Header text should be in 12 pt. Bold Veranda.
    • Footer should contain the following, “NPS {Subject} Curriculum [Left Justified] and “Page x of y” [Right Justified].  Footer text should be in 10 pt. BOLD Veranda.

  3.   “Table”. NPS uses a five column table format for curriculum framework.  The columns are titled

    • Standards
    • Benchmarks
    • Suggested Resources
    • Instructional Strategies
    • Assessments

 

4.   A NPS Curriculum Blank Template in Word format has been posted on the NPS web site under the Office of Teaching, Learning & Professional Development Section of the web site.
