Dear Parents and Guardians:

Welcome to the Newport Public Schools and its website. 

Newport Public Schools offer many great programs to help your child learn and develop into a responsible, contributing citizen.  We believe that every student should be challenged and supported throughout their educational career.  Principals, teachers, and staff are dedicated to making a positive difference in your child’s life.  It is important that you know that we believe we are partners with you in this process, and we welcome your active involvement in your son’s or daughter’s education.

It is important that you encourage your child to take advantage of all of the wonderful programs that we have here in Newport.  Encourage your child to do well in school, reinforce that homework is important, and let them know that you care about their good behavior and academic achievements. 

The most important thing that you can do to help us to have your child succeed is to develop open lines of communication.  If there are issues, do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher, guidance counselor, or Principal.  Honest and open communication with staff is the best way your child can succeed.  The district has policies on parent involvement and promotion/retention with which you should be familiar.  If you have any questions regarding these policies, it is important that you ask about them as soon as possible.  I believe that the educational offerings that we provide all of our students in the Newport Public Schools are outstanding and appreciate the fact that you have entrusted your children to us.
