Mrs. Long's Library Standards
for Students
Students in grades 3-5 read and sign
"Meet the Standard in the Library Media Center" at
the beginning of the school year. We talk about the standards
together, emphasizing two main points:
1. Respect PEOPLE and 2. Respect
THINGS.
Students in grades K-2 learn about
standards and the two main points but do not sign this document.
Instead, students draw pictures of themselves meeting the standard
by following a three-step Listening Recipe: 1. STOP moving, touching,
and talking., 2. LOOK at the person who is talking to you., 3.
THINK about what the person is saying.
